Triskele/Triskelion = symbol drawing

May.27.2013      DIN-A4      11.7 x 8.3 inch

Description

Object

The drawing shows the Celtic symbol 'Triskelion' or 'Triskele'. I created it with a lot of small stones.

It would be ‘nice’, if I could give you the exact the meaning of that symbol, but over the centuries there were many 'ideas' for the interpretation.

The meanings have a range from ideas of the Celtic Druids, ideas of Christianity to today's right-wing national ideology.

Somewhere there was to read, that the Triskele has something to do with movement and dynamism and from that I concluded 'my' meaning. Nearly every day I ride my bicycle in 'the woods and fields', so I like this interpretation most.
