Story
The 'Adventure Galley' under Captain William Kidd has been able to catch a Spanish galleon.
With grappling hooks, the pirates have moved both ships close to each other. In the ups and downs of the sea, the wooden hulls rub with the rigging hooked under increasing dull creaking.
With loud shouts, the clatter of sabers and cutlasses the teams pounce on each other.
Interspersed by deafening cannon-fire a painful slaughter unfolds.
Mary Ann is involved in a very violent battle. The fight takes place at the rear of the galleon (near the rudder, directly under the triangular sail).
Her opponent is much bigger and stronger than she. Nevertheless, she has accomplished by a ruse, that he had to drop down his defence for the fraction of a second.
In the drawing we see, how she pushes the sword tip with feminine elegance (but not without force) into the body of her enemy.
She wins...
