Ashaninka in the rainforest = native drawing (inverted)

February.26.2014      DIN-A4      11.7 x 8.3 inch

Description

Rainforest - western Amazon-basin - 5:27 in the morning

'Silently the body moves through the thicket.'

'For a long time he lived here, it is his home, his habitat.'

'Hunting, like thousands of years ago.'

The Ashaninka are people that live in about 200 villages within the rainforest of Brazil and Peru.

Some villages have managed to secure their territory through notary proven land rights.

Nevertheless, there are always conflicts with loggers.

In 2013, the chief of a village community was killed by criminal woodcutters.

The Ashaninka live, where the 'beautiful wood' comes from, and they try to continue to live there - that is also our benefit.

Steps

I inverted the original picture (on the computer) into a bright version and with that I made the bright drawing. After that I scanned the drawing and inverted it on the computer.

First I show the 'real' drawing on the paper and then the steps.

This time the pre-drawing and the black shadows are only minimal, so I'll spare them and put the inverted images side by side.
