'Hector, Hector - come out and meet me, face to face'
'Hector, Hector... !'
(Achilles , alone before the walls of Troy, when he challenged Hector)
Invincible invulnerable ,unpredictable - Achilles - the best fighter of antiquity.
His own mother (Thetis) dipped Achilles into the underworld river Styx, to create an invulnerable man. By holding him at his heel, this was from now on his weak spot (the Achilles' heel).
He didn't want to live long, but to accomplish great deeds and gain immortality in the Greek-history.
Achilles moved in with Odysseus to fight against Troy. There, Achilles defeated Hector in a duel, the best Trojan fighter.
At the end, Troy is defeated by a stratagem of Odysseus (in a wooden horse which the Trojans voluntary pull into the city, Greek fighters were waiting)
Achilles died when the Trojan ‘Paris’ precisely shot him with an arrow in his heel.
(Why does an invulnerable man die when his heel is pierced, when even a normal person wouldn’t die – well, let's just say, the arrow was poisoned )
